OUR GOAL IS TO GET ONE MILLION SIGNATURES!
We want to take these one million signatures to Congress and pressure them into passing the bill and making it the LAW of our nation to stop predatory lenders from enslaving our children and their parents (as co-signers) with high-interest long-term debt ~ debt that can be increased with penalties for the slightest infractions. What these lenders are doing to the youth of our country is criminal and we want to stop it. We also want to establish mandatory jail sentences for anyone who violates the provisions of the bill in the future. We believe that the people charging such high interest rates and entrapping young people at such an early age are committing GRAND LARCENY ON A MASSIVE SCALE and should be jailed for doing so, NOT allowed to place our children in a prison of life-long debt as they are doing at present, simply because our children want to further their education and understanding of the world in which we live.

Demand Real Student Loan Reform

The U.S. student loan debt has skyrocketed to over $1.75 trillion, trapping a generation in a lifetime of debt that cannot be forgiven in bankruptcy. This crisis is fueled by deceptive marketing practices, high-interest loans, and illegal servicing practices that put profits before people. It’s time to end this cycle and hold these institutions accountable.
Our Demands
- Enacting a 2% Usury Law for Student Loans: Cap all student loan interest rates at a fair and manageable 2% to prevent predatory overcharging and make education affordable.
- Implementing Stricter Accountability: Enact market-wide student loan servicing reforms with mandatory jail time for executives and board members who commit infractions or violate transparency laws.
- Ensuring Full Transparency: Require clear, honest communication and full transparency in all loan documents and servicing practices.
- Creating a New System: Invest in a tax-funded community college system that serves our children and their education, not Wall Street bankers.
